Does Charlotte water cause scale in pools?
Generally no. Charlotte Water's own water quality page gives total hardness of 38 ppm, about 2.2 grains per gallon, which is soft. The supply comes from the Catawba-Wateree basin via Lake Norman and Mountain Island Lake. Scale is not a typical Charlotte pool or hot tub problem, though the water balance still needs checking at each service visit.
When should I close my pool in Charlotte?
Charlotte's median first fall freeze is November 3 according to NOAA 1991 to 2020 normals. From December through February the city averages 12 to 17 freezing nights a month, so pools are winterized or kept freeze protected. Average highs stay at 82.8°F or above through September, so most closings come after that.
Can I drain my pool into the storm drain in Charlotte?
Only if the water contains no chlorine, bromine, salt or other treatment chemicals, under Charlotte City Code Sec. 18-81. Filter backwash and saltwater pool discharges are expressly prohibited from the storm system. Confirm the right method with the City of Charlotte before draining, especially for a saltwater pool.
Do you work with health department requirements and inspections?
Commercial pools are regulated, and the requirements for testing frequency, record keeping and water quality vary by state, province and municipality. Your local team can explain what applies to your facility and how service is documented to support it. Requirements should always be confirmed with your own local authority.
Can service be scheduled outside opening hours?
Usually, and for most commercial facilities it is the practical option, since closing a pool to guests or members at peak times is costly. Raise it when you ask for a quote so it can be built into the service plan.
We had a last minute urgent pool cleaning need (on a Saturday) and Angel came to the rescue. Extremely thorough and did a phenomenal job getting the levels right and the pool spotless for our event. I would highly recommend.

After 8 years with the same company, they sold out to another company and my service went downhill. My technician was poor and unwilling to do what was needed. I tried Puddle Pools and Dave came out and was terrific! My pool looked better than the last 3 months! And he was technologically savvy on Hayward. I highly recommend Dave! Great guy!
