Why Choose Professional Pool Cleaning in Savannah?
Savannah's unique climate and abundant flora present specific challenges for pool owners. From the spring pollen that blankets everything to the summer humidity that encourages algae growth, maintaining water clarity can feel like a constant battle. Skipping professional maintenance can lead to costly repairs, unhealthy swimming conditions, and a pool that’s less inviting. If your Savannah pool is constantly battling with green water, stubborn stains, or an imbalance of chemicals, then Puddle Pool Services offers the precise solution. Our systematic approach tackles these common local issues head-on, preventing problems before they escalate. We provide the peace of mind that comes with a professionally maintained and healthy pool.
Our Comprehensive Pool Cleaning Process
At Puddle Pool Services, we follow a meticulous process designed to deliver exceptional results every time. Our skilled technicians are trained to cover every detail, ensuring your pool is not just clean, but also properly balanced and protected. We use advanced techniques and equipment to maximize efficiency and effectiveness. Our standard pool cleaning visit includes:
- Skimming: Thorough removal of leaves, insects, pollen and other floating debris from the water surface using a specialized net. This prevents organic matter from sinking and breaking down.
- Vacuuming: Cleaning the pool floor and walls to remove accumulated dirt, sand and fine particles. We utilize powerful pool vacuums to ensure a spotless basin.
- Wall Brushing: Scrubbing the pool walls, steps and tile line to dislodge algae and calcium buildup. This helps prevent the formation of stubborn stains and improves overall water circulation.
- Debris Removal: Emptying skimmer baskets and pump baskets, which are critical components of your pool's filtration system. This ensures optimal water flow and prevents clogs.
- Algae Prevention: Proactive treatment and monitoring to keep various types of algae (green, black, mustard) from taking hold. We use targeted algaecides and shock treatments when necessary.
- Water Clarity: Ensuring your water looks inviting and is free from cloudiness or murkiness. This involves proper filtration, circulation and chemical balance.
- Chemical Balancing: Testing and adjusting pH, chlorine, alkalinity and calcium hardness levels. Maintaining these essential parameters is crucial for swimmer safety, equipment longevity, and overall water health. Our technicians understand the intricacies of these "technical terms" to ensure optimal conditions.

Savannah Pool Cleaning: Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my pool water turn yellow, green or brown?
Yellow often means metal staining or pollen tannins. Green means algae or copper from corrosion. Brown often means iron or organic tannin staining. Each has a different treatment. Send us a photo and we will identify what is happening and bring the right chemicals to the next visit.
Do you check for safety drain covers (VGB compliance)?
Yes. Every visit includes a visual inspection of main drain covers. If we see a cracked or missing VGB cover we flag it immediately because the entrapment risk is severe. Replacement is required by federal law for public pools.
Can I get same-day or emergency pool service?
Same-day service is available for existing clients during peak season when route capacity allows. Emergency service for power outages, storm damage or chemical incidents is available 7 days a week. Call us directly for the fastest response.
Do you service fiberglass pools?
Yes. Fiberglass is the easiest pool surface to maintain but it is also the most chemically sensitive. We avoid harsh acid treatments and use sequestrants more aggressively to keep scaling off the gelcoat finish.
What do I do with my pool after a hurricane?
Wait for debris and floodwater to settle. Skim large debris first, then vacuum the floor on a wide-pass setting to lift fines without clogging the filter. Run the filter continuously for 24 to 48 hours. Rebalance chemistry from scratch because storm rain often shifts pH, alkalinity and chlorine.
Are there long-term contracts?
No. Puddle Pools does not lock clients into long-term contracts. You can pause, cancel or change frequency with reasonable notice and no cancellation fees.
Do you service vinyl liner pools?
Yes. Vinyl liner pools need slightly different care: softer brushes to avoid puncturing the liner and careful chlorine management because vinyl is sensitive to high concentrations. We adjust our protocol for vinyl pools automatically.
Can I pay by credit card or set up auto-pay?
Yes. We accept all major credit cards and offer auto-pay through your customer portal. Most clients use auto-pay so they never miss an invoice.
How does Savannah's soft to moderate municipal water with airborne salt influence near the coast affect pool chemistry?
Pools in Savannah are filled with soft to moderate municipal water with airborne salt influence near the coast. Soft water below 150 ppm calcium hardness is aggressive to plaster and metal equipment. We test calcium on every visit and add calcium chloride to bring the water into the 200 to 400 ppm pool range, especially for newer plaster surfaces.
Which Savannah neighborhoods do you serve for pool cleaning?
We run weekly pool cleaning routes across Savannah and surrounding areas including Historic District, Ardsley Park, Isle of Hope, Tybee Island and The Landings. We add new Savannah-area neighborhoods to our service map as demand grows. Request a free quote and we will confirm coverage and scheduling within one business day.
Kyle runs a first rate and first class A+ business. Communicative and straight forward. Our tech, Clayton is awesome and is always on time and thorough. Best Pool Company around BY FAR!!!
These people are incredibly reliable and helpful. I sincerely appreciate their help and support in addressing my problems with my hot tub. It’s not that often that you find people who seem to enjoy providing service and Responding to Your concerns. Thanks guys, keep up the good work!
Highly recommend Puddle Pool Services! There was an emergency with a rental hot tub, and they showed up incredibly fast. I expected a costly repair bill, but the technician was completely transparent and honest. Instead of charging for unnecessary repairs, they just gave it a thorough, deep refresh until it was squeaky clean. They were quick, professional, and excellent to work with. Definitely use them for your pool or hot tub needs! Shout out to Clayton and Kyle!
Clayton services our pool and he is great to work with. My husband, who can be hard to please, is extremely pleased with Clayton's hard work, attention to detail, and helpful nature. We couldn't be happier with our services from Puddle Pools. We without a doubt give them a glowing review ten times over!
Kyle came out and helped me get my pool cleaned for the start of the season after I ruined my pump on accident 😂. He helped shock and vacuum a lot of stuff from it! He was a wonderful help, and gave great advice. Highly recommend!! The green was a few days before Kyle showed up and I put in algaecide and Flock. He took care of the rest 🤘
Kyle and his team at Puddle Pool Services are awesome!! They show up when they say they will, keep the pool looking perfect, and take the time to explain what they’re doing. Super easy to work with and just an all-around great crew. Only company I’ll be recommending to friends and family!!

I really like this pool cleaning company. And I've tried quite a few! They're very reliable and respond quickly to communication. They worked with me on scheduling, and we settled at reasonable service rates , both Kyle and Clayton are extremely nice and thoughtful about your property! My pool is sparkling.
I had Puddle Pool Service clean my pool for the first time this Week. Clayton did a great job cleaning my pool taking the time to really brush the sides of the pool instead of walking so very fast so very fast. He did a wonderful job of vacuuming the whole bottom of pool, again not rushing everything . All I can say is I was very satisfied with Claton and Puddle Pool Service at the same time very competitive pricing. Give.them a try. You wont be disappointed.
Kyle and CLAYTON have been amazing since the moment they inspected our new pool. They got the chemicals dialed in, replaced the pool light, replaced a skimmer door, labeled my valves, and much more. They come each week and keep everything perfectly. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
We purchased a swim spa and a hot tub, but had no clue how to start and maintain them. Kyle and Clayton are phenomenal and consummate professionals. They got everything started up and continue to service them. We are throughly enjoying thanks to them! They are fair, timely, patient, and informative. I highly recommend Puddle Pools!
Clayton has been coming to service our hot tub weekly and is always kind and respectful. Answers any questions we have and plays with our 2 rescue pups. He is a wonderful asset to the company
Puddle Pool Service has been absolutely fantastic for our home in Southbridge. After spending a year calling around and searching, we finally found the level of service and dedication we were looking for. Puddle Pool's Technician, Clayton, is reliable, professional, attentive, and truly committed to keeping our spa in top shape. Every week he makes sure it is properly cleaned, serviced, and well regulated so it is always ready for us to enjoy. We're so glad we didn’t settle for just any company. If you're looking for someone you can trust to consistently maintain your spa, Puddle Pool is the ones to call. Highly recommended!
