Keeping your pool running smoothly takes a lot more than a skimming every now and then.

We’ve had a fantastic experience with Puddle Pool Services Raleigh, and Brett has been absolutely exceptional!

From the very beginning, Brett went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. When our pool heater was giving us trouble and wouldn’t stay on, he personally came out over the weekend to get it working. That level of dedication and responsiveness is hard to find and truly meant a lot to us.

When we opened the pool this week, there were a couple of small items that needed attention. I reached out to Brett, and without hesitation, he immediately sent someone out the same week to reclean and make sure the filter pump was running perfectly. The new technician who came for the second visit did a great job — he was thorough, professional, and made sure everything was in top shape before leaving.

It’s clear that Brett and his team genuinely care about their customers and take pride in their work. Reliable, responsive, and committed to quality — highly, highly recommend!

Brett is the man! I talked to him multiple times over the course of a week as he patiently helped me diagnose my pool leak while waiting for my appointment. He went above and beyond to make an after hours house call to get a tricky liner patch in place ahead of freezing weather so I could get water back in the pool and save my liner and equipment, he stayed until the job was done.

He is extremely knowledgeable and straight shooting. No unnecessary upselling but if you did want to upgrade he knows what you need.

Thanks again, and glad we found our “pool guy”
Response from the owner:We had a great time considering the battle we were facing! Thanks for the kind words, and looking forward to being there for you anytime you need us.

Connor did an outstanding job helping us reset a hot tub that we inherited with our new home. It looks and performs great, and Connor took the time to explain to us how to operate and maintain our hot tub. As new hot tub owners we really appreciated the wealth of knowledge he shared with us both verbally and in writing. We are so grateful for the attention to detail and highly recommend Puddle Pool.
Response from the owner:We are grateful you found us! It was a pleasure… and cheers to many autumn nights enjoying the tub!

Puddle Pool Service closed my pool this week for me. I had been trying to get the dead algae out of my pool that keep recirculating back in all summer.
Conner vacuumed to waste for me before closing and seems to have finally got rid of it for me.
Very professional and caring business.
I would gladly recommend this company to everyone.

Pool Cleaning Service in Durham

Swimming pools are great additions to any property. Whether you are hosting friends and family or doing morning laps, it’s easy to enjoy a pool — until you have to clean it! Proper pool care involves balancing water chemistry, clearing up debris and residue, monitoring pool equipment and more. If you’re spending more time on maintenance than you are on your backstroke, it’s time to call Puddle.

Don’t get overwhelmed with skimming and scrubbing when local Puddle technicians provide expert Durham pool cleaning services for homes and commercial properties.

The Secret to Efficient Pool Care: A Multi-Step Approach

Swimming pools can be demanding. Keeping up with surfaces, water systems, and pool chemistry can start to feel like a full-time job. Without consistent chemical applications and cleanings, it won’t take long for water to go green and swampy. Luckily, local Puddle crews have a solution for you: routine cleaning programs!

Puddle Pool Service offers options for regular cleaning programs, seasonal care and single-service deep cleans to keep pools flowing smoothly. You can’t just drain a pool, grab a garden hose and refill basins every time water starts to go cloudy. Puddle crews offer weekly cleanings during the spring and summer season, and bi-weekly cleanings during fall and winter.

Consistent chemical treatments and water balancing prevent algae, keep water crystal clear and ensure swimmers stay safe. Experienced crews use specialty brushes, tools and manual vacuums to remove residue and debris.

Seasonal Pool Maintenance: Protecting Pools At Any Time of Year

When the swimming season comes around, pool owners want to soak up every possible second of sunshine. As much as you might want to cannonball into your pool on the first day of spring, you can’t do it if the water is dirty or contaminated. Keeping up with seasonal maintenance plans protects pools during the off-season and lets you make the most out of warm weather.

Pool Closing

Durham sees its coldest days from December through February. Waiting until the last minute to close your pool can result in surprise cold snaps and damage. Freezing temperatures make plastic components brittle and cause water inside pipes to expand and potentially burst. Dropping the water level and winterizing plugs prevent water from getting into vulnerable areas.

Off-Season Pool Programs

Because Durham has relatively mild winters, closing your pool for the season isn’t your only option. Puddle technicians offer off-season cleaning programs that put pumps on a timer and reduce the frequency from weekly to bi-weekly. This keeps chemical levels balanced and swimming pools cleaned throughout fall and winter. The best part is that when you’re ready to use your pool in spring, you just need to turn on the heater and hop in!

Pool Opening

After months of disuse, you might remove the cover from your pool to find a whole new ecosystem. It can take days or even weeks to restore a pool using an amateur approach. Don’t miss out on the first warm days of spring when Puddle technicians have efficient treatments at the ready. Puddle crews will open drain plugs, restore water levels so they reach the skimmer opening, remove debris and apply multiple rounds of chemical treatments to sanitize pool water.

Residential & Commercial Pool Services: Tailored Treatment Plans For Every Space

There is a big difference between maintaining a backyard swimming pool and a large commercial swim space. The average household pool will see several swimmers over a week or weekend, but a hotel pool will see more than that in an hour. At the height of the tourist season, hotel pool care will need more frequent cleanings, and that’s why Puddle offers flexible service schedules.

Puddle technicians offer commercial pool cleaning schedules ranging from once a week, up to five times per week. Popular areas for commercial pool care include spas, fitness centres, gyms, clinics and multi-unit living spaces like condos and apartment buildings. Puddle crews are experienced in maintaining inground and above ground pools in any environment. With options to schedule services online or by phone 24 hours a day, there’s never a bad time to call your local Puddle crews!

Durham Pool Cleaning: Frequently Asked Questions

How often should a pool be cleaned in Durham, North Carolina?

In Durham, we recommend professional pool cleaning at least once per week. Due to our year-round warm climate and intense North Carolina sun, chlorine depletes faster here than in other regions. Weekly service prevents algae blooms and ensures your water chemistry remains safe for swimming in the subtropical heat.

Why is my Durham pool turning green even with chemicals?

Green pools in Durham are often caused by high phosphate levels or 'locked' chlorine due to excessive cyanuric acid. Heavy seasonal rains can also wash debris and contaminants into the water. Puddle Pools provides 'Green to Clean' recovery services to shock the system and restore your water's crystal-clear balance.

Is a saltwater pool easier to maintain in the North Carolina climate?

Saltwater pools are popular in Durham because they provide a softer swim and a more consistent delivery of sanitizer. While they require less manual chemical handling, they still need weekly skimming, brushing, and cell cleaning to prevent calcium buildup. At Puddle Pools, we maintain both traditional chlorine and saltwater systems.

How do I choose the best pool cleaning service in Durham, NC?

When choosing a Durham pool service, look for a company that is fully licensed, insured, and provides real-time service reports. Puddle Pools offers 'Happy Snappy' technicians who send e-reports with photos after every visit, so you know exactly when your pool was cleaned and what chemicals were added.

How does heavy rain affect my pool's water chemistry?

Heavy North Carolina rain can dilute your pool's salt and chlorine levels while lowering the pH. This makes the water acidic and creates a breeding ground for algae. After a typical Durham thunderstorm, it is important to test your water and potentially 'shock' the pool to maintain a safe, sanitary environment.
