What are the pool fence rules in Aurora?
Under Aurora Fence By-law 6429-22, a pool enclosure must be at least 1.5 m high on a single residential property and at least 2.0 m on any other property. Pools deeper than 600 mm need a permit, so confirm the details with the Town's Building Division first.
What gate and locking rules apply to pools in Aurora?
Aurora's by-law requires self closing gates with a lockable self latching device inside near the top or outside at least 1.5 m above grade. The whole enclosure must be closed and locked whenever a responsible person at least 16 years old is not supervising the pool. Nothing that helps a child climb may be left within 1.0 m of the outside of the enclosure.
