- Water Chemistry Balancing: We test and adjust your pool's pH, alkalinity and calcium hardness to prevent staining and scaling over the winter. This initial step is critical for overall off season care.
- Thorough Cleaning: We brush the pool walls and floor, vacuum and skim to remove debris, reducing organic matter that could promote algae growth.
- Shock Treatment & Algaecide Application: We apply a powerful shock treatment to eliminate any lingering contaminants and introduce winterizing algaecide to prevent algae from forming in colder temperatures.
- Lowering Water Level: The water level is precisely lowered to below the skimmer and return lines, preventing damage from expanding ice.
- Blowing Out Lines & Plumbing Protection: This is a critical step where we use high-powered compressors to force all water out of your pool's circulation system, including skimmer lines, return lines, and equipment. This process of blowing out lines prevents freeze damage.
- Antifreeze Application: Non-toxic, pool-grade antifreeze is added to all plumbing lines, skimmers and equipment that cannot be completely drained. This provides an extra layer of plumbing protection against residual water freezing.
- Equipment Disconnection & Storage: Pumps, filters, heaters and other equipment are disconnected, drained and stored safely where applicable, or prepped for winter with protective covers.
- Skimmer & Return Line Plugs: We install expansion plugs in all skimmer and return lines to seal them off and prevent water re-entry.
- Safety Cover Installation: For pools with safety covers, we meticulously install your safety cover installation, ensuring it is taut and properly secured. For those without, we can advise on options.
- Final Inspection & Documentation: A comprehensive final check is performed, and we provide you with a checklist of services performed and any recommendations for next season.
