Key Steps in Our Maintenance Plan:
- Skimming & Debris Removal: We meticulously skim the surface for leaves, pollen, and other debris that regularly fall into Encinitas pools. This also includes vacuuming the pool bottom and brushing walls and steps to prevent algae buildup, especially in high-traffic areas like around the Encinitas Community Park.
- Water Chemistry Balancing (pH testing): Precise pH testing is fundamental. pH measures how acidic or alkaline your water is. We adjust it to an ideal range (7.4-7.6) to ensure swimmer comfort, prevent equipment corrosion, and maximize sanitizer effectiveness. We also test for Total Alkalinity (TA), which acts as a buffer to stabilize pH, and Calcium Hardness (CH), essential for preventing plaster etching or scaling.
- Chlorine & Sanitizer Levels: We accurately test and adjust chlorine levels to ensure your pool is properly sanitized. We also monitor Cyanuric Acid (CYA), often called conditioner or stabilizer, which protects chlorine from burning off quickly in the Encinitas sun.
- Filter Cleaning: Your pool's filter is its heart. We perform routine filter cleaning, backwashing sand filters, cleaning cartridge filters, or recharging Diatomaceous Earth (DE) filters. Each type requires specific attention to maintain optimal filtration efficiency. A clean filter ensures crystal clear water and efficient circulation.
- Pump Inspection: Our routine equipment checks include a thorough pump inspection. We examine the pump motor for proper function, check for leaks, clear the pump basket of debris, and ensure the impeller is free of obstructions. A well-functioning pump is crucial for water circulation and filtration.
- Routine Equipment Checks: Beyond the pump, we inspect all other essential equipment. This includes checking heaters for proper operation, inspecting salt cells (if applicable) for efficiency, and ensuring automatic pool cleaners are working correctly. We also look for any signs of wear or potential issues that could lead to future breakdowns.
