Water Fountain Cleaning: Avoid a DIY Disaster

Every year property owners opt to scrub their water fountains only to end up with unexpected damage and expensive repair bills. Unlike a bathtub or counter you can’t just grab a bleach-based cleaner and start to spray away at a spa. Harsh chemical cleaners will wear away at protective coatings and waterproofing. Wire bristle brushes or pressure washing can cause small damage that will get worse over time, leading to water damage, rust and other issues. Instead of dealing with the aftermath of a DIY disaster, let an expert handle the heavy lifting instead.

An outdoor water fountain is up against the elements in the same way that a swimming pool is but they won’t get the same amount of attention. Just because you don’t swim in a garden fountain doesn’t mean that it shouldn’t be kept sanitary. All it takes is one missed chemical treatment to have water looking cloudy or green but water condition isn’t the only thing that you have to worry about. Luckily, Puddle technicians have made cleaning any outdoor water feature or indoor fountain a breeze.

Puddle technicians provide thorough cleaning and maintenance programs for both indoor and outdoor fountains. By using state of the art tools, testing kits and safety equipment Puddle technicians get the best results, every time.

Routine Cleanings: Puddle technicians offer routine care plans that see experts coming in for scheduled care equipped with all of the right tools and equipment to get the job done. Each service includes water testing and balancing, removal or white scale and mineral deposits, surface scrubbing and we remove debris! Routine cleanings prevent algae growth, keep water flowing and ensures that you have someone checking the water level and filters on a regular basis.

Deep Cleans: Whether you have a routine cleaning program in place or haven’t cleaned your fountain in a while, it is always a good idea to incorporate deep cleans into your annual schedule. Concrete is tough but it is still porous and this means sitting moisture and algae can wear down materials causing damage. Puddle technicians apply a combination of specialty chemicals designed to loosen buildup from within systems and pull it back out into basins. Water is then drained and it is time for deep cleaning. Soft bristle brushes are used to remove stains from liners and concrete can be acid washed. This is also the ideal time to remove fountain pumps, clean the pump and check filters.

Whether you want an expert to regularly clean your fountain, a single cleaning or seasonal maintenance, there’s nothing that local Puddle Pros can’t handle.
