Where can I drain my pool in Cape Coral?
Cape Coral City Code Sec. 5-24 says drained pool water must go to an approved storm sewer or other approved drain or outlet at no more than 250 gallons per minute. It must never go into the sanitary sewer. The Land Development Code also bans letting pool or hot tub water run onto a neighbor's property. Check with the City before draining.
Can Cape Coral adjust my utility bill after a pool refill or a leak?
Under City Code Sec. 19-19 the City may adjust the sewer portion of a bill for filling or refilling a pool whose water does not reach the sanitary sewer, once in 12 months, with a request filed within 30 business days and certified by a licensed pool contractor. A separate water bill adjustment covers leaks in service lines or plumbing once the leak is repaired and documented. Ask the City's utility billing staff which one fits your situation.
How do Cape Coral watering rules work?
Cape Coral City Code Sec. 19-90 sets a year round schedule of two watering days a week based on the last digit of your address, each with a fixed time window. Private wells in a designated part of northeast Cape Coral can fall under stricter South Florida Water Management District shortage orders, which do not apply to homes on city water. The rules cover landscape irrigation and do not mention pool filling.
