For in ground pools in unincorporated Collin County, the owner signs a county affidavit that every door from the house and garage into the pool area has either an alarm that sounds for at least 30 seconds or self closing and self latching devices with the latch at least 54 inches above the floor. The affidavit says the device must stay in working order as long as the pool exists. Confirm current requirements with Collin County Development Services.
How far must a pool be from a septic system in Collin County?
Collin County's pool information sheet says pool plans must show the septic system, with conventional tanks and lines at least 5 ft from the pool deck edge and an aerobic system spray area at least 25 ft from it.
