Keeping your pool running smoothly takes a lot more than a skimming every now and then.

Residential Pool Services in Frisco, TX

It’s easy to enjoy a swimming pool when you’re out at a resort or getting your daily laps at a public pool. At home, you have to manage all of the cleaning, maintenance and upkeep that keeps water systems in great shape. This is a lot of work, particularly when it is eating into your leisure time. Instead of stocking up on testing kits, pool chemicals, equipment and tools only to spend your evenings and weekends cleaning, call Puddle. By providing expert Frisco residential pool services Puddle technicians keep swim spaces clean and usable so you can enjoy the season!

When it comes to pool care at home a DIY take on cleaning, maintenance and repair will often end in disaster. Even for experienced pool owners the needs of a swim space will change throughout the year. Puddle technicians don’t rely on a one-size-fits-all approach but create tailored cleaning programs designed to meet the specific needs of your pool.

Residential Pool Care: Tailored Cleaning Programs That Work

Keeping a pool clean should always be a top priority but sometimes it can be hard to keep up. When applied properly pool chemicals will last for approximately a week during the spring/summer months and two weeks during the fall/winter. Without regular chemical treatments, debris removal and pool filter maintenance it won’t take long for water to go green.

Contaminated water is a serious risk to health and safety and that is why Puddle has created a  step-by-step approach that addresses pools inside and out.

Water Care: Pool water is at the mercy of the elements — and not just the temperature. Heavy rains, high temperatures, growth rates and more will have an impact on water chemistry. Shocking the pool when it starts to go green is an obvious first step but that doesn’t mean water is sanitary. Regular chemical application prevents algae but it is very important to balance chlorine levels, pH levels, total alkalinity and calcium, as well.

Remove Unwanted Items: Dealing with debris is just another part of pool maintenance. A swim space that is full of leaves and debris looks awful and will drop your curb appeal but it’s also harsh on systems and surfaces. In addition to scooping up floating items and using a robotic pool vacuum it is important to regularly empty skimmer baskets. Letting debris sit can lead to permanent stains on liners, pressure on circulation systems and contaminated water.

Scrub Away Residue: Over time residue will start to form around water lines. Getting rid of this requires specialty cleaners and brushes. Using the wrong tools will result in weakening or even damage and tears to vinyl liners. Residue can also form on steps making them slippery and dangerous.

Clean Filters: The filtration system is vital in keeping your pool cleaner over a longer period.

All of the test strips in the world won’t make a difference if the filters are blocked or clogged up. If there is a blockage it’s difficult for water to circulate and that forces pool pumps to work harder. Cartridge filters should be removed, cleaned and reinstalled every 3-4 months and a sand filter should be emptied and refilled with clean sand every 3-5 years.

Frisco Residential Pool Services: Frequently Asked Questions

Is Frisco tap water hard enough to cause scale in my pool?

Frisco buys its water from the North Texas Municipal Water District through the Wylie Water Treatment Plant, and the city's water quality report describes it as moderately hard. NTMWD's monthly reports for the Wylie plants show finished water hardness of 94.8 to 136 mg/L in February 2026 and 116 to 128 mg/L in August 2026. Hardness shifts with the seasons, so testing calcium hardness at each service visit helps keep scale off tile lines and hot tub heaters.

What are the pool fence rules in Frisco?

Frisco's residential enclosure requirements call for a barrier at least 48 inches and no more than 96 inches high, with no more than 2 inches of clearance at the bottom and pedestrian gates that self close, self latch and open away from the pool. The fence must sit at least 20 inches from the water's edge and chain link is not allowed as part of the enclosure. Frisco adopted the 2024 Swimming Pool and Spa Code with local amendments effective March 1, 2026, so confirm current details with Frisco Building Inspections before you build or replace a fence.

Can a wall or pool equipment sit next to my pool fence in Frisco?

Frisco's enclosure requirements say there must be at least 36 inches between the pool barrier and any permanent structure, wall or equipment that could be used to climb it. If your house wall forms part of the barrier, the city requires a notarized Certification of Pool Protection Device Installation at the pre plaster inspection. An inspection visit can flag climb hazards around the barrier, but check final requirements with the City of Frisco.

How do I choose the right service plan?

Service plans come in tiers, so the schedule and scope can match how you use your pool. Your local team will recommend a plan based on the pool, the equipment and how much attention it needs.

Do you look after hot tubs as well as pools?

Yes. Many homes have both, and hot tubs can be serviced on the same visit and the same plan as the pool.
