What are the pool fence rules in Hamilton?
Hamilton's Swimming Pool Enclosure By-law No. 16-184 (amended by By-law No. 22-059) covers any outdoor private pool able to hold more than 0.6 m of water, including hot tubs and landscape ponds; the enclosure needs a building permit. It must be at least 1.5 m high, pass no 100 mm sphere and stand at least 1.0 m from the inside pool wall. Gates need a self closing device plus a self latching device at least 1.35 m up on the inside. Water may not go in until the enclosure has final City approval, so confirm details with the City.
Do hot tubs and above ground pools need a fence in Hamilton?
Under By-law No. 16-184, a hot tub is exempt if it has a rigid cover that can hold 90 kg (or meets current ASTM hot tub standards) and is locked when not in use. An above ground pool's walls plus guard must total at least 1.5 m and not be climbable. Check with the City that your setup qualifies.

Professionals from start to finish. I've used a few different pool services over the years and there is no comparison to TJ and his team.
