What pool safety features does Petaluma require?
The City of Petaluma pool and spa handout says new pools and spas, and alterations of existing ones, need at least two of seven drowning prevention features under CBC Section 3109. Options include an enclosure isolating the pool from the house, removable mesh fencing with a self closing self latching gate, an approved safety cover, door exit alarms, self latching doors or a certified pool alarm. Confirm your plan with the City's Building Division.
How high does a pool enclosure need to be in Petaluma?
According to the City of Petaluma pool and spa handout, an enclosure must be at least 60 inches high with no more than 2 inches of clearance at the bottom and no gaps a 4 inch sphere can pass through. Gates must open away from the pool and self latch with the latch no lower than 60 inches. Check current requirements with the Building Division before building or altering a fence.

Wow! Puddle Pool Services are amazing! I had an issue (or thought I did) with a new spa tub I recently purchased and to ease my anxiety before going full on with the tub I needed someone with expertise to check if we had issues with a possible airlock in our pump system and check all the jets etc. I called several pool companies on a Thursday evening and Travis was the only one that called me back that night and stated a technician would come the next day after his day was done with everything already scheduled AND touched base with me a couple of times the day of keeping me aprised. Javier was awesome and checked all jets and dials plus went behind the panels to check the pumps. Turns out everything was fine and they didn’t charge me. What company does that? Thank you for being prompt with responding to me, thank you for being an honest trustworthy company and not taking advantage of my anxiety and lack of knowledge regarding my swim spa and thank you for sending me a friendly technician that oozed kindness and professionalism. Travis at Puddle Pool Services not only fixed our 20-yr old hot tub but now service it weekly and keep it in perfect condition.
