Dust storms coat the cover and infiltrate uncovered tubs with fine particulate that clogs filters within days. Post-storm we deep-clean the cover, swap the filter, run a chemical reset. Cover-on policy is the single biggest preventive measure.

Drain through the bottom drain valve (or a submersible pump), wipe the shell and clean the cover. Clean the filter cartridge or replace it if due. Refill slowly through the filter housing to avoid air locks. Heat to set temperature and run for 24 hours before starting chemistry.

Hot ambient temperatures push effective bather load up because guests use the tub more in cooler evenings. Combined sanitizer demand increases. We test water weekly through summer and balance accordingly.

A routine maintenance visit takes 20 to 40 minutes. A drain-and-refill takes 60 to 90 minutes plus the time to heat the new water back to set temperature (4 to 12 hours depending on tub size).

In hard-water regions, minerals concentrate in the tub faster than the filter and chemistry can manage. Drain intervals as short as 8 to 10 weeks may be needed to prevent scaling, especially during heavy summer use. We track TDS and recommend the optimal interval per tub.

Hot tubs in Phoenix are filled with CAP/SRP water source at 300 to 450 ppm calcium hardness. Minerals concentrate as water evaporates, so calcium scale and high TDS develop faster than in soft-water regions.
