The unique weather patterns in Fort Myers, with its intense sunshine, occasional heavy rains, and warm temperatures, create specific challenges for pool owners. Fort Myers residents face particular challenges due to our tropical environment. High humidity and heat can accelerate algae growth, while sudden rain showers can drastically alter water chemistry. Puddle Pool Services understands these local nuances and has tailored solutions to combat them effectively.
Problem/Solution Logic for Fort Myers Pool Owners:
IF your pool water often turns green shortly after cleaning due to the humid climate and intense sun,
THEN our algae prevention protocol includes specialized treatments and consistent brushing to inhibit growth and maintain water clarity, saving you from costly shock treatments and downtime.
IF heavy afternoon thunderstorms in Fort Myers routinely introduce a flood of debris and unbalance your pool's chemicals,
THEN our flexible scheduling and precise chemical balancing ensure your pool recovers quickly, preventing prolonged contamination and equipment strain.

A standard weekly visit covers surface and floor cleaning, water testing (chlorine, pH, alkalinity, calcium hardness, cyanuric acid), shock as needed, filter inspection and cleaning, basket emptying, equipment check and a digital E-Report. We typically spend 30 to 45 minutes on site within a stated arrival window.
Fort Myers municipal water comes from the Floridan Aquifer via Lee County Utilities, running soft to moderate at 80 to 150 ppm calcium hardness. Soft water can be aggressive to plaster surfaces and metal equipment, so we test calcium every visit and add calcium chloride to bring water into the 200 to 400 ppm pool range.
Yes. SW Florida winters are mild enough that Fort Myers pools stay in use 12 months. We maintain weekly cleaning year-round with the same chemistry rigor December through February as in peak summer. Most McGregor Boulevard, Cape Coral and Pelican Preserve owners stay on a weekly cadence year-round.
Coastal salt air settles on equipment pads year-round, accelerating metal corrosion on heaters, salt cells, ladders and pump housings on Sanibel, Captiva, Gulf Harbour and Cape Coral waterfront properties. We use salt-air-rated equipment recommendations and inspect for corrosion on every visit.
Yes. Our weekly cleaning routes cover Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Sanibel, Captiva, Gulf Harbour, McGregor Boulevard, Pelican Preserve, Iona, Estero and the surrounding Lee County area. Service routes are organized by ZIP code so technicians stay efficient and consistent.
Black algae appears as dark spots on plaster, especially in shady corners. It has a hard protective shell that resists most chemicals. Treatment requires daily wire brushing of the spots, very high chlorine residual (5 to 10 ppm) for a week and a copper-based algaecide. Persistent black algae sometimes requires a partial drain.
Soft tap water (below 150 ppm calcium hardness) is aggressive to plaster, metal equipment and concrete. It dissolves calcium out of the pool surface over time, leaving etched plaster and stained tiles. The fix is adding calcium chloride to bring water into the 200 to 400 ppm pool range.
The E-Report is a real-time service summary sent to your phone or email after every visit. It includes timestamped before-and-after photos, exact chemical readings, technician notes, equipment status flags and any recommendations. It is your proof the work was done and your long-term record of pool health.
Pools in Fort Myers are filled with soft to moderate municipal water with airborne salt influence. Soft water below 150 ppm calcium hardness is aggressive to plaster and metal equipment. We test calcium on every visit and add calcium chloride to bring the water into the 200 to 400 ppm pool range, especially for newer plaster surfaces.
We run weekly pool cleaning routes across Fort Myers and surrounding areas including McGregor, Gateway, Pelican Preserve, Cape Coral and Sanibel-area homes. We add new Fort Myers-area neighborhoods to our service map as demand grows. Request a free quote and we will confirm coverage and scheduling within one business day.
