We ensure your pool is always sparkling clean, safe, and ready for enjoyment, making us the top choice for residential pool services.
Your swimming pool is more than just water; it's a centerpiece for relaxation, family fun, and fitness right in your own backyard. In St. Petersburg, where the sun shines bright year-round, keeping your pool in pristine condition requires consistent, professional home pool care. Puddle Pool Services delivers comprehensive solutions designed specifically for homeowners, providing peace of mind and more time to enjoy the Florida lifestyle.
Addressing Common St. Petersburg Pool Challenges with Expert Solutions
Living in St. Petersburg comes with unique pool care challenges. The intense Florida sun can quickly degrade chlorine, leading to algae growth. Sudden summer storms can fill your pool with debris, throwing off chemical balance. These local conditions demand a proactive approach to backyard pool upkeep.
If you're noticing green tints, cloudy water, or equipment malfunctions, then it’s time for Puddle Pool Services to step in. Our skilled technicians are experts in diagnosing and resolving these issues efficiently. We prevent minor problems from becoming costly repairs, ensuring your private pool technician keeps your investment protected and enjoyable.
Comprehensive Weekly Maintenance for St. Petersburg Homes
Our flagship weekly maintenance program is designed to cover every aspect of your pool's health and appearance. We understand that your time is valuable, which is why our service is thorough, reliable, and convenient. From routine cleaning to precise chemical balancing, we handle it all with professionalism and care.
- Water Chemistry Balancing: We meticulously test and adjust pH levels (acidity/alkalinity), alkalinity (water's ability to resist pH changes), and chlorine to ensure a safe and comfortable swimming environment. We also monitor Cyanuric Acid (CYA) to stabilize chlorine against UV rays.
- Skimming & Brushing: Our team thoroughly skims the surface to remove leaves and debris, and brushes the walls and steps to prevent algae and calcium buildup.
- Vacuuming: We vacuum the pool floor to remove dirt and sediment, keeping your water crystal clear.
- Filter Cleaning & Inspection: We regularly clean your filter and inspect the system, including backwashing (reversing water flow to clean the filter media) when necessary, to maintain optimal filtration efficiency.
- Equipment Check: Pumps, heaters, and other vital equipment are inspected during each visit to ensure proper function and identify potential issues early.
Our commitment to family-safe chemicals means we use only high-quality, effective products that are safe for swimmers, pets, and the environment. We pride ourselves on offering a responsible approach to home pool care.
The Puddle Pool Services Advantage: Our Unique Process & Technology

St. Petersburg Residential Pool Services: Frequently Asked Questions
What is in St. Petersburg tap water that matters for pools?
The city's 2024 Water Quality Report lists hardness of 165 mg/L, alkalinity of 125 mg/L, calcium of 57 mg/L and pH 8.2. The water is bought from Tampa Bay Water as a blend of groundwater, surface water and desalinated water and lime softened by the city. Homes outside city limits or billed by another utility should check that utility's report.
Do I need to close my pool for winter in St. Petersburg?
No. NOAA normals for Albert Whitted Airport show a coolest monthly average low of 55.3 F in January and only 0.1 nights a year at or below 32 F, so there is no winterizing season. Average lows stay above 72 F from May through October, so sanitation needs no off season either.
Should I drain my pool before a hurricane in St. Petersburg?
No. UF/IFAS Extension advises keeping the pool full rather than draining or partially draining it, since saturated ground can damage an emptied shell. Shock the pool before and again after the storm and never store patio furniture in the water.
How much does pool service cost in St. Petersburg?
Weekly pool service is $140 to $150 a month for a small pool, $160 to $170 for a medium pool and $180 to $200 for a large pool. Chemicals only service is $100 to $150 a month. Full service, cleaning and chemicals together, is $120 to $150 a month. A one-time green to clean recovery is $300 to $800. Your quote confirms the price for your pool.
Can service continue year round?
Yes. Service can run through the whole year, adjusted to the season, so the pool stays protected even when it is not being used much.
We’ve been using Puddle Pool Services for about 6 months now, and we couldn’t be more impressed. They are consistently professional, reliable, and truly go above and beyond to ensure our pool is always in excellent condition. What really sets them apart is their attention to detail—not only do they provide top-notch full-service care, but they are also very mindful of our pets when entering and exiting our screen enclosure, which we greatly appreciate. They are extremely knowledgeable about pool systems, including our newer high-tech setup that other companies struggled to understand. It’s clear they take pride in their work and expertise. We highly recommend Puddle Pool Services to anyone looking for dependable and high-quality pool care.

Garrett from Puddle Pools is an absolute pool wizard. I’m not exaggerating when I say he transformed my pool from “meh” to resort-level sparkling. He’s incredibly professional, always shows up on time, and brings the kind of positive energy that makes you feel like your pool is in VIP hands. Not only is my water crystal clear, but he also took the time to explain what he was doing and why, which made me feel super confident in the care my pool was getting. He even went above and beyond to fix a minor issue I didn’t even know was a problem. If you’re looking for someone who’s meticulous, trustworthy, and genuinely takes pride in their work, Garrett is your guy. My pool has literally never looked better. I won’t let anyone else near it but him. Thank you, Garrett, for making my backyard feel like a five-star vacation spot every single day! 🙌💦🌴 — One very happy and impressed pool owner
