Professionals from start to finish. I've used a few different pool services over the years and there is no comparison to TJ and his team. I had them perform a comprehensive leak detection and followed that up with a leak repair. Their expertise, top of the line equipment, and friendliness made the entire experience quick and easy. They keep you informed all the way through the process and in terms of value for dollar, they can't be beat. I wish I could give six stars!
Response from the owner:Hi Ryan. Thanks so much for your review. Glad we were able to help!

Hamilton Pool Leak Detection

More often than not, it is tough to pinpoint exactly where and when a leak forms but after a while they are tough to ignore. Nothing ruins a summer season faster than a leak does. More than just having to add water to a reduced water level, a leak makes chemical balance impossible, means damage is possible and water bills are on the rise. If you begin to notice lower water levels and higher bills, don’t wait to call Puddle for your Hamilton pool leak detection services.

Anywhere that there are plumbing or water systems, there is a risk of leaks. A leaky pipe indoors can cause water damage in and around flooring, counters and other central areas and that is when dealing with only a small amount of water. Swimming pool leaks mean losing hundreds of litres of water and all of that water has to go somewhere! If an inground pool is leaking, you can expect underground leaks, while above ground models are responsible for surface flooding and saturation. In either case, excess pool water means drowned lawns, displaces soil and a whole lot of headaches for pool owners, so call a Puddle Pro at the first sign of an issue.

Accurate Leak Testing & Diagnosis for Hamilton Homeowners

There is a big difference between natural water loss caused by evaporation and high traffic, and losing water based on leaks. One of the major ways to determine if you are losing water is to measure the water level and keep an eye on your water bill. Depending on the size of your leak, this loss might be obvious or sneaky, but it is always possible to track it down!

The simplest and most common way for pool owners to determine if they are dealing with leaks is a bucket test. This involves grabbing a bucket full of pool water and setting it next to the poolside, exposing it to the same conditions. In this scenario, the water level of the pool and the bucket should change at the same rate. If pool water drops significantly more than the water in the bucket, you likely have a leak. Identifying a leak is the first step in solving your issue but it is also the easiest one!

Part of what makes swimming pool leak detection so complicated is that there are many moving parts to these water systems. Having to locate the leak in a pool means full examinations of structures and the plumbing that keeps water moving. This means having to create plans to treat both inground and above ground pool systems with a unique approach. Dealing with above ground swim spaces means being able to visually inspect pool equipment, structures and even vinyl liners. For inground swimming pools, you are dealing with underground plumbing lines which becomes increasingly difficult to track and treat.

Even a small leak will become a major issue over time. Underground leaks will shift soil, putting added weight and pressure on structures. Displaced water will also drown lawns, kill grass and lead to water damage or even flooding inside structures. Pool leaks don’t just impact surrounding areas, they put unnecessary wear and tear on systems as well as components, drastically reducing lifespans and leading to the need for premature repairs and replacements.

Identifying Pool Leaks: From Bucket Tests to Pressure Testing

Spotting pool leaks might be complicated but our Puddle technicians have it down to a science. In order to best service our customers, Puddle technicians arrive on-scene with options for testing both structures and plumbing to decipher what type of leak you are dealing with, along with speciality tools to isolate problem areas.

A pressure test uses a consistent stream of air flow to pipes and plumbing systems to determine if there is a leak inside. If there is an opening, it will produce air bubbles or, in the case of underground leaks, gurgling sounds. Following these allows technicians to find leaks and organize repairs to suit them. Dye tests on the other hand, involve shutting down pool pumps and using strategically placed coloured dye to point out leaks in pool liners or concrete structures themselves.
