Commercial Pool Care: Who Can Benefit?

It’s common for small businesses to keep a lean staff. This is great for payroll but it can be terrible for your swimming pool! High traffic areas like fitness centres, apartment buildings, public pools and more, are exposed to a higher rate of contaminants and that means the need for more frequent cleanings. Water testing, balancing, skimming and scrubbing can take away from the daily operations of a business and that means more stress, less resources and unhappy customers. Luckily, our local Puddle Pros have a solution!

Routine Cleaning Programs: For businesses with a consistent and recurring customer base, it is important to make sure that swim spaces are ready for use at any given time. By hiring a professional pool service, business owners can rest easy knowing that their swim spaces are in good hands. Puddle technicians arrive on a weekly basis, testing and balancing chemical levels, removing debris, scrubbing sides, emptying skimmer baskets, flushing lines and checking pool filters.

One-Time Service Calls: As a contractor you always want your hard work to stand out. Following a construction or landscaping project you want customers to be happy with the final results of a project and not focused on dirt that made its way into nearby pools. In the event that you are getting ready for an open house, a swampy pool can send potential buyers running in the opposite direction. Booking a single deep cleaning before a showing can help to entice potential buyers and even help to make a sale. Post-construction cleanups and deep cleans help contractors upgrade their customer service and are sure to get a great referral.

Seasonal Maintenance Service: Waiting too long to close a pool can have serious repercussions throughout the year. Having to close your pool down for repairs or maintenance can mean losing customers. Every year pool operators try to take on their pool openings with a DIY approach only to end up with damage or subpar results that will prolong the process. Don’t miss out on revenue or disappoint your customers when you can book a thorough and efficient opening with Puddle Pool Services instead.

Hotel Pool Care: Keeping Up With High Traffic Swim Spaces

Commercial swimming pool maintenance can feel like a full-time job all on its own. Unlike a residential pool that sees several swimmers over the course of a week, hotels will see dozens of swimmers over the course of a day and hundreds over the course of a weekend. Keeping a high traffic pool cleaner, longer, means frequent upkeep of pool chemicals, debris removal and inspections of water systems and equipment. In order to keep up, Puddle technicians have options for cleanings once per week, all the way up to fives times per week.

When it comes to pool care for businesses, Puddle technicians understand that every pool is unique and that is why we offer customized cleaning programs made to suit your space.

Whistler Commercial Pool Services: Frequently Asked Questions

Can I fill my pool or hot tub in summer in Whistler?

Only in limited cases. Under Whistler's Outdoor Potable Water Usage Bylaw, Stage 2 runs May 1 to October 31 and allows filling residential and commercial pools and hot tubs only to comply with health and safety laws; at Stage 3 filling is not permitted. From November 1 to April 30 (Stage 1) filling is allowed any day any time, so plan big fills then and check the RMOW for the stage in effect.

Are there rules for filling fountains in Whistler?

Yes. Whistler's bylaw schedule allows decorative fountains and pools to be filled any time except weekends during Stage 2 (May 1 to October 31) and not at all at Stage 3. The rules cover potable water only; rainwater, grey water and recycled water are not restricted.

Why does low pH matter for hot tubs and pools in Whistler?

The RMOW says some of its source water has naturally low pH, and 2025 monthly averages in the distribution system ran between 6.5 and 7.5. Low pH water can be corrosive to heaters and metal fittings, so hot tub and pool water should be brought into balance after each fill.

How is commercial pool service different from residential?

Bather load is the main difference and it changes everything downstream. A pool used by many people each day uses up sanitizer faster, loads the filter harder and moves out of balance more quickly, so commercial pools are typically serviced on a shorter cycle and monitored between visits. There is usually a record keeping requirement as well, which home pools do not have.

How often does a commercial pool need servicing?

More often than a home pool, and the interval is driven by use rather than by the calendar. A busy hotel or fitness facility pool may need daily attention to water chemistry with scheduled service visits on top. The right schedule depends on your facility's traffic and the requirements that apply where you operate.
