Residential Pool Services for Mission Pool Owners

Mission BC is home to properties of all shapes and sizes. Whether you are tucked into an urban centre or have a sprawling yard space, there is no better addition than a swimming pool. Installing swim spaces is a great way to add value to a home and for those with existing ones, a care and cleaning practice can help to protect your investment. If you are finding it difficult to keep up with the demands of your water system or are tired of settling for subpar results, call a Puddle technician for your Mission residential pool services.

From a distance, cleaning a swimming pool probably does not seem very complicated but nothing could be further from the truth. Getting great results for your pool care at home means digging deep into the more technical aspects of your water systems, including liners, structures and internal components like pool pumps, motors and more.

Pool Cleaning At Home: The Best Way to Get Great Results

When properly cared for and maintained, water features add a ton of personality to homes and businesses throughout the Mission area. In a commercial setting, it is common to have multiple individuals working on pools, on a daily basis. For homeowners, you are often left on your own and that leaves pools out in the cold — literally!

There are plenty of tools on the market that are designed to help pool owners keep up with the needs of their water systems but these are only meant to assist, not to get results all on their own. A pool vacuum, for example, can suck up heavy debris from the bottom of the pool but it cannot scrub residue from walls or clean out skimmer baskets and they certainly cannot balance water chemistry.

One of the first indicators that your pool water is out of sorts is murkiness or discolouration. If you begin to notice cloudy water, your water balance is off and chemical applications are necessary but this is easier said than done! Proper pool chemistry depends on more than sanitizer and chlorine levels alone but should incorporate pH levels, alkalinity and more. Basic test strips cannot always identify chemical issues in the same way that expert water testing can.

The circulation and filtration system of your pool is key to keeping water circulating and crystal clear. If these areas are not monitored, even freshly cleaned water will be contaminated again in no time. Every water system has a unique pool filter. Whether you are dealing with a sand or cartridge filter, replacing these can be a big undertaking. In addition to changing out cartridges or replacing sand, it is important to monitor the areas surrounding your filters, removing clogs or blockages.

Visual inspections are another important part of pool maintenance, but they are not effective if you don’t know what you should be looking out for. Noticing a small tear in a vinyl liner or a crack in a hot tub shell makes it possible to repair an issue before it becomes a disaster. When small issues become larger ones, it can lead to water damage, leaks, flooding and high costs of repairs and replacements.

Residential Pool Care in Mission: Great Results From Puddle Pros

No one gets better results for pool care throughout Mission than our Puddle Pros. Every one of our specialists is local to the Mission area and understand what your water systems go through on a daily basis and throughout the changing of the seasons. Instead of struggling through multiple periods of trial and error, have an expert get the best results on the first try, every time.

Instead of offering a one-size-fits-all pool cleaning program, Puddle Pool Services offer weekly and bi-weekly cleaning treatments, as well as seasonal updates and system refreshes, if you are experiencing algae growth and high debris rates. Each Puddle technician is highly trained and experienced, and is fully insured to provide peace of mind, alongside excellent results. Enlisting a professional for your pool care needs improves visuals and curb appeal, but it also prolongs the lifespan of your internal components, keeping systems running smoothly for longer periods.

Mission Residential Pool Services: Frequently Asked Questions

Is Mission tap water hard or soft for a pool?

Mission shares the Abbotsford Mission joint water system. Its 2025 Annual Water Quality Report shows very soft surface water from Norrish Creek and Cannell Lake (about 4 to 7 mg/L) alongside aquifer wells at roughly 72 to 153 mg/L. Well water makes up about 30 percent of supply in summer and under 10 percent in winter, so tap hardness is softest in winter and harder in summer. The small Ruskin Townsite system draws from Hayward Lake and publishes no hardness figure.

What are the pool fence rules in Mission?

Mission Building Bylaw 3590-2003, section 10, covers private residential pools over 14 square metres and deeper than 600 mm. The pool must be enclosed by a fence or structure at least 1.2 m high with no opening or gap larger than 50 mm, which is stricter than Abbotsford's 100 mm limit. Confirm the requirements with the City before building or replacing a fence.

What gate rules apply to pools in Mission?

Under Mission Building Bylaw 3590-2003, access other than through the dwelling must be by a self closing and self latching door or gate, with the latch not reachable from outside. The latch must sit at least 200 mm from the top of the gate and 450 mm from any opening. Diagonal wire mesh is allowed if the strands are no more than 50 mm apart and it is at least 1.2 m high.

How do I choose the right service plan?

Service plans come in tiers, so the schedule and scope can match how you use your pool. Your local team will recommend a plan based on the pool, the equipment and how much attention it needs.

Do you look after hot tubs as well as pools?

Yes. Many homes have both, and hot tubs can be serviced on the same visit and the same plan as the pool.

I called Puddle Pools to replace my circulation pump after calling around for other quotes and was told by another company that it would take five days to get the part that I needed. I didn’t want my pool sitting idle, especially in summer heat without circulation, so Rav came on his day off to get it done. He was super professional and very friendly as well. Awesome service. I will definitely use them for my pool stuff going forward. Thanks 😊

I had a great experience with Puddle Pools for an above-ground pool liner replacement. The service was high-quality, affordable, and they truly went above and beyond to make sure I was completely satisfied with the final installation. Rav, the owner, was fantastic to work with. He is professional, reasonable, and clearly very knowledgeable about his craft. It’s hard to find reliable service like this, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for pool maintenance or repairs! Thanks again Rav!
