What are the pool fence rules in the City of North Vancouver?
The City of North Vancouver's Residential Swimming Pool Safety Requirements handout says any pool over 14.0 square metres and deeper than 450 mm must be fully enclosed by a fence at least 1,070 mm (3 ft 6 in) high with no opening over 100 mm and no toeholds. The gate must be self closing with a spring lock on the pool side. The house may not form part of the enclosure. The District of North Vancouver has different rules, so confirm which municipality your property is in.
What are the pool fence rules in the District of North Vancouver?
District of North Vancouver Construction Bylaw 8271, Part 8, requires a building permit to build or structurally repair a pool deeper than 0.5 m. Any pool, spa or hot tub outside a building must be enclosed by a fence at least 1.2 m high, without footholds and with no openings over 100 mm. Gates must be self closing and self latching on the pool side. A locking cover can replace the fence for a spa or hot tub, so confirm details with the District for your property.
Do you look after hot tubs as well as pools?
Yes. Many homes have both, and hot tubs can be serviced on the same visit and the same plan as the pool.

They did a change out of the sand for our sand filter, and even when they had to do a bit extra labour as not everything was as expected with the inside of the filter chamber, we were still invoiced the original quoted amount which was really decent! Mike and Ciara were pleasant and cheerful to deal with, and gave helpful advice to get our cloudy pool water back to sparkling. Really great team!
