Is Honolulu tap water hard?
The Honolulu Board of Water Supply does not list hardness in its water quality reports, but its Water Quality FAQ says sources across Oahu may range from 25 to 300 ppm and hardness at an address can vary with which pumps are in service. Because the range is so wide, test calcium hardness in the fill water rather than assume it.
What pH and chlorine level does Honolulu tap water have?
According to the Board of Water Supply, water pH occurs naturally in the 7 to 8 range and all water pumped into the system is chlorinated at about 0.25 to 0.5 mg/L. Some areas also get granular activated carbon treatment. Testing pool or hot tub water after a fill shows where the balance starts.
Is Honolulu a year round pool climate?
