When to Book Pool Inspections in Mississauga
A pool, spa or hot tub is a prime selling feature for any property. In an ideal world, everyone would have a swimming pool at their fingertips at any time of day or night and that is why so many Mississauga residents are eager to purchase a home with a pool. Whether you are looking to buy or sell a home with a pool or want to assess the condition of your swim space, our Puddle technicians are here to help! Expert Mississauga pool inspections provide visual inspections and testing for a full view on overall condition so you can rest easy!
Professional Pool Inspection Services: What to Expect
Home inspections are common practice whenever a pool changes hands but if you are considering buying a home with a pool, it is extremely important. The average home inspector is experienced in dealing with roofing, foundations and structures but they aren’t all familiar with swimming pools. They might not seem like it but swimming pools are very complicated and are made up of many moving parts, each of which need to be inspected — and that is where our Puddle technicians come in.
There are many types of swimming pool inspections on the market, each with a different focus. Some swimming pool inspections focus on construction permitting and insurance coverage and while these are important they don’t always tell you if a pool is functional! A level 1 pool inspection focuses on functionality and overall condition, providing peace of mind to pool owners and puts home buyers at ease knowing that they aren’t going to be dealing with damage or costly repairs right away.
Visual Inspections: After years of industry experience, each member of the Puddle team has a trained eye and inside knowledge of what to watch out for when it comes to visual inspections for pools. Physical damage can be obvious, as with a slab leak or crack, or it can be much more subtle like a tear in a liner. Without technical training it is easy to overlook a bit of damage but even pinhole or underground leaks can lead to serious and expensive damage. Puddle technicians will carry out visual inspections of not only pool structures but plumbing and internal systems, as well as pool equipment to ensure that your swim space is in good, working order.
Testing: In addition to visual inspections, Puddle technicians test water systems to make sure that everything is running smoothly. If a pool pump fails, for example, it will have a ripple effect throughout your pool, straining other components and leading to water contamination.
Safety Features: When dealing with a swimming pool, it is important to eliminate safety issues wherever possible. Visual inspections and light testing can point out issues with pool decks, ladders, railings and even diving boards.
It is important to note that Level 1 Pool Inspections do not include a written report but is designed to provide peace of mind when buying, selling or maintaining a swimming pool.
Mississauga Pool Inspections: Frequently Asked Questions
What are the pool fence rules in Mississauga?
Mississauga's Swimming Pool Enclosure By-law 0191-2011 covers any outdoor pool or hot tub that can hold more than 61 cm (24 in) of water. The pool may not be filled until the City issues a Certificate of Approval for the enclosure, which at a detached or semi detached home must be at least 1.22 m (4 ft) high with self closing gates that latch at the top on the inside. An entirely above ground hot tub may use a secured, lockable cover instead if the City accepts it, so check with the City for your property.
How much water can a Mississauga pool lose to evaporation?
Peel Region says an uncovered pool can lose 30 to 50 percent of its water to evaporation and recommends using a cover. It also notes that water loss you cannot explain may point to a leak. If the level keeps dropping with a cover in place, leak detection can find where the water is going.
Which Mississauga neighborhoods do you cover?
We look after pools across Mississauga, including Clarkson, Lorne Park, Mississauga Valley, Square One District, Brampton (South/Main St) and Conservation Park Area. The full list of areas is on our Mississauga page. If you do not see yours, get in touch and we will confirm.
Can you inspect a hot tub or spa at the same time?
Yes. Spas and hot tubs can be inspected alongside the pool or on their own, which is useful when a property has both.
Is an inspection useful if I am selling my home?
It can be. Knowing the condition of the pool before listing lets you repair issues on your own terms, and a clean inspection gives buyers confidence in a feature that otherwise makes some of them nervous.
I hired Puddle Pools for my opening and closing and throughly impressed with their service Amazing company to work with!!! Very friendly and hardworking people.
So we looked heavily for a new company and found Puddle Pool services. They did everything they said they would in their services. The detailed list and cost was extremely helpful. Nims was/is very responsive and helpful with any questions, his crew did an exceptional job. They followed up two days later as stated in the service to vacuum and balance the water, and came on a day I genuinely weren't expecting them to due to the weather. Thoroughly impressed. Thank you
They measured, build and install a beautiful pool cover for my large L shape pool based on my special requests, very fast and reasonable price. Since then they have been very responsive to other requests and even questions. Amazing team! I highly recommend them.
I am so grateful for Nims and his technicians! All his technicians are certified. Bhav was our technician and he has identified and fixed issues that had cost me thousands of dollars to repair but would only last temporarily because they didn’t get to the root cause. The team take pride in their work and won’t find things to bill you needlessly. In fact, their fees are exceptional for the stellar service they provide! I had almost given up on a good pool company until I came across Puddle Pool Services. I have had a pool for over 10 years and I have very high standards for the “health”of my pool. Most services hire teenagers who are less experienced and don’t come back the next season. Nims team are top rate.
We had a great experience with Puddle Pools. Nims installed a new pool heater and pump, fixed several leaks, and serviced our sand cartridge filter. He was professional, efficient, and great to work with. Nims remains easy to reach for any questions that come up and always has a solution or can connect us with someone who does. Everything is running smoothly — 20/10 recommend!
Puddle Pool did a great job getting our pool crystal clear and clean. Would happily recommend them to anyone looking to have their pool serviced.
