What Goes Into Proper Pool Care?
There is no shortage of pool supply stores in the Port Moody area - even hardware stores sell pool pumps and testing kits but these are useless if you don’t know how to use them. Taking care of pools and hot tubs seems straight forward: install filters, skim out debris and add chemicals from time to time - this is both true and untrue.
While these pool care basics are all necessary, your water features are more demanding than just that. In order to keep your system running smoothly, sanitizer and chlorine levels have to be balanced, along with pH levels and your pool filter should be inspected. Even if the to-do list does not seem all that long, there is a right way and a wrong way to get check these tasks off.
Running your pump is not enough to ensure that circulation and filtration systems are working properly. If these systems start to slip, algae is not far behind. The most common areas for algae to form is around corners or steps. Instead of just trying to shock your pool, consult a specialist to decide whether or not algaecide is needed. Professional pool maintenance services are well-versed in caring for every inch or your pool and spa.

Port Moody Pool Cleaning: Frequently Asked Questions
What should I do between professional visits?
Very little, which is the point of a service, but two habits help: empty the skimmer basket if it fills between visits, and run the pump long enough each day to turn the water over. If the water goes cloudy, loses its clarity or smells strongly of chlorine, tell your technician rather than waiting for the next visit.
Will I know what was done at each cleaning?
Yes. Every visit ends with a real time E-Report showing what was done, the chemical readings and before and after photos, so you can see the result without being there.
Why is my pool still cloudy right after a cleaning?
Cleaning removes debris and corrects the chemistry, but the filter still needs time to clear fine particles from the water. Slight cloudiness usually settles as the pump runs. If it does not clear, or it gets worse, let your technician know so the filter and chemistry can be checked.
Can my hot tub be cleaned on the same visit?
Yes. If you have a hot tub as well as a pool, it can be serviced on the same visit and the same plan.
How often should a pool be professionally cleaned?
Most pools in regular use are serviced weekly through the swimming season, because skimming, brushing and chemical balance all drift within days rather than weeks. Pools that are used less, or that are covered for part of the year, are often fine on a visit every other week. The right interval depends on how much the pool is used, how much tree cover sits above it and the local climate, so it is worth asking for a recommendation for your own pool.
Kat and her team are the best, ive tried other companies and none come close to what they offer.
Been using Puddle Pools for over 2 years now. Great service. Always keep my hot tub super clean. Wouldn’t use anyone else!
I been using Puddle pools for cleaning my pool for a year now. It's been great experience. Highly recommend 👌
We have been using Puddle pool for 2 years now and it has been great. The service and communication is great. Luke does an amazing job of making sure the water in the pool is clean and safe to use. We love using our pool in the summer.
I was very happy with the service received from Kat at Puddle Pools. It was the first time I had used the company and it was peak-summer. Despite that, my call was replied to quickly and a visit to view the pool soon followed. The problem was discussed in order to isolate the issue and the remedy proposed, which has eliminated the issue.
We are newbies to owning a pool so needless to say it was pretty daunting to navigate through the maintenance. We feel very fortunate to have met Kat Lopez who not only helped explained the process, but walked us through it step by step. She is very patient and prompt in replying to queries. She would arrive on time when she said she would, efficient in using her time whenever she is onsite. She also provides a detailed report after every appointment so there was no second guessing on what was accomplished. Talk about professionalism at its best! The rates are reasonable. Our family is grateful we came across Puddle Pools! The rates are reasonable. We are happy to support a local business. We hope the owners know how fortunate they are to have Kat on their team! Thank you for all your help, Kat!
